Travel video about destination Venezuela. Venezuela is a land of beauty and contrast, a country that contains several unique habitats and is one of the last great natural paradises on Earth. It is also home to the legendary Orinoco, the second largest river in South America that also forms a natural border with Columbia. From Puerto Ayacucho we journey to the remote regions of the State Of Amazonas, the country’s most southerly province. Extending for one hundred and eighty thousand square kilometres and with only a hundred thousand inhabitants it is one of the most sparsely populated areas in Venezuela. A short journey by motorboat takes us to the headwaters of the Rio Ventuari. Because the route leads through an extensive maze of canals it is important that this leg of the journey be taken with an experienced guide who is well versed with the local geography. Following a three hour journey on various tributaries of the Orinoco we arrive at the small village of the Makiritare Indians. The natural variety of the underground world of the Los Roques Archipelago manifests itself in the diversity of the numerous coral reefs that grow there. Apart from a particular fire coral each one of them belongs to a single species that is known as the ‘flower animal’. East of the Venezuelan Andes, in the vast plains of the Llanos, the scenery is entirely different. It is almost reminiscent of America’s Old Wild West. The Llaneros is South America’s version of the legendary cowboy and the use of the Llanos as pasture land was introduced in the eighteenth century and covers a third of Venezuela. It is believed that a number of Andalucian families moved into the plains in 1548 as they were more interested in agriculture and cattle breeding than the Conquistadores who sought only gold. There is almost no other country in the world that contains so many diverse and fascinating landscapes as Venezuela, the land of the Indios and Llaneros and a land full of outstanding cultural contrast and natural splendour.

Disappeared Plane landed after 37 years Like a flying phantom of the Twilight Zone, a chartered DC-4 aircraft with 57 passengers on board landed in Caracas, Venezuela, in 1992 ... 37 years after his disappearance in 1955 during a flight from New York to Miami! But in less than a few minutes, the plane took off again a ghost, and disappeared into the clouds! Testimonies and taped radio communication between the pilot and control tower are irrefutable proof that this nightmarish landing still was in reality. - Indications of workers control service of the airport, who saw the incident, the same in essence, - said Deputy Minister of Civil Aviation Ramon Estovar. But the clincher, according Estovara is a small calendar 1955, which gave the pilot the runway a few seconds before take-off and the disappearance of DC-4. - I saw the plane ... I heard the voice of the pilot. I even carried a calendar, but still can not believe it, - said Juan de la Corte, who clearly saw everything that happened from his post on the tower control flight. These people aboard still think that now in 1955 and that they had landed in Florida. But it is not. God knows where they have been all these years. According to de la Corte and other managers, they realized that there is something supernatural, when the airport was suddenly approached propeller plane that has not appeared on the radar screens. - We saw the plane with his own eyes, but on the radar were no signs of it, - said de la Corte. - We have asked the pilot to call himself, and he radioed us, "Where are we?" His voice was frightened and confused, but finally he said that charter flight 914 from New York to Miami, with a crew of 4 people and 57 passengers. Manager said that after these words of the pilot in the control room was quiet. Everyone was stunned. Destination Flight 914 ... Miami ... 1800 km from Caracas ... - I told the pilot: "It Caracas, Venezuela, South America ...". Then I asked, "Are you suffering a disaster?" There was no answer, and I cleared the corridor for landing. Planting was excellent. Just when I started to think that everything went well, I heard the pilot told his copilot: "Jesus Christ, Jimmy! What the hell are you? "They looked at the jet and behaved as if it was a spaceship. According to de la Corte, the pilot stated that he was scheduled to sit at Miami International Airport at 9.55 am July 2, 1955. - Then I heard him say, "Something is wrong here." I radioed the plane: "Captain, this is an international airport in Caracas. Today, May 21, 1992. "He just said," Oh, my God! "I could hear him breathing heavily. I tried to calm him down, saying that it had sent to the ground crew. According to de la Corte, when the ground crew and approached the tanker aircraft, the pilot shouted over the radio: "No! Do not go near! We're leaving here! "Later, ground service workers reported seeing passengers face pressed against the window. A pilot opened the window of his cab and waved them to leave. - He waved to some folder - said de la Corte. - Probably, because of it and fell calendars, which we later found out. Venezuela has accused the United States of conducting "psychological terrorism" through travel restrictions after Washington slapped a ban on citizens from the South American nation. Venezuelan Foreign Minister Jorge Arreaza said the move is incompatible with international law. "In a gesture of political hypocrisy, and brazenness, Donald Trump is imposing a tax on humanity and on the values of peace and prosperity". Washington is already at loggerheads with Venezuela's government under Presi… READ MORE : http://www.euronews.com/2017/09/26/venezuela-slams-us-travel-ban What are the top stories today? From above, Caracas' skyline still hints at the opulence that once characterised oil-rich Venezuela, but at ground level there's no hiding today's reality: people are queuing all night for food and medicine; inflation is with over 700 percent the highest in the world; and murders and kidnappings are spiralling out of control. Venezuelans who can, are fleeing their country, once a magnet for immigrants. And with a political confrontation mounting steadily, many warn that the nation with one of the world's largest oil reserves is on the edge of an abyss. Political violence against opponents of the populist government of President Nicolas Maduro is intensifying, but it's common crime which is terrifying most Venezuelans, no matter what their beliefs or social class. Venezuela is now one of world's most dangerous countries, and its capital, Caracas, the city with one of the highest murder rates in the world, according to a recent study. Violent crime is rampant and the police are unable to stop - or don't want to intervene - people from looting, or others from killing for a bag of food. The looting of bakeries, pharmacies and especially supermarkets is spreading throughout the country. At long queues of people waiting to buy food, the army is deployed to maintain order. Talk to Al Jazeera travels to the Venezuelan capital, where many airlines are now refusing to fly. Al Jazeera's Lucia Newman speaks to five Venezuelans about life in the midst of the country's mounting turmoil. Riddle Flight 914 The Plane Disappeared In 1955, Landed After 37 Years | The Mysterious Time Lapse Like a flying phantom of the Twilight Zone, a chartered DC-4 aircraft with 57 passengers on board landed in Caracas, Venezuela, in 1992 ... - These people aboard still think that now in 1955 and that they had landed in Florida. The pilot started the engines, and the plane took off. Leaders of civil aviation detained all records of negotiations with the board, and also found a calendar and continue to investigate the incident. more at http://travel.quickfound.net/ NEW VERSION in one piece instead of multiple parts: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rPSUaBZ0wJA Public domain film from the Library of Congress Prelinger Archive, slightly cropped to remove uneven edges, with the aspect ratio corrected, and mild video noise reduction applied. The soundtrack was also processed with volume normalization, noise reduction, clipping reduction, and equalization (the resulting sound, though not perfect, is far less noisy than the original). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Douglas_DC-8 The Douglas DC-8 is a four-engined narrow-body passenger commercial jet airliner, manufactured from 1958 to 1972 by the Douglas Aircraft Company. Launched later than the competing Boeing 707, the DC-8 nevertheless established Douglas in a strong position in the airliner market, and remained in production until 1972 when it began to be superseded by much larger designs, including the DC-10 and Boeing 747. The DC-8 design allowed it to hold slightly more cargo than the 707. Dozens of re-engined examples remain in freighter service to this day, while commercial 707 service had largely ended by 2000... Design phase Douglas secretly began jet transport project definition studies in mid-1952. By mid-1953 these had developed into a form very similar to the final DC-8; an 80-seat, low-wing aircraft with four Pratt & Whitney JT3C turbojet engines, 30° wing sweep, and an internal cabin diameter of exactly 11 feet (3.35 m) to allow five abreast seating. Maximum weight was to be 95 tons (86 tonnes), and range was estimated to be about 3,000--4,000 miles (4,800--6,400 km). Douglas remained lukewarm about the jet airliner project, but believed that the Air Force tanker contract would go to two companies for two different aircraft, as several USAF transport contracts in the past had done. In May 1954, the USAF circulated its requirement for 800 jet tankers to Boeing, Douglas, Convair, Fairchild, Lockheed, and Martin. Boeing was already just two months away from having their prototype in the air. Just four months after issuing the tanker requirement, the USAF ordered the first 29 KC-135s from Boeing. Besides Boeing's ability to provide a jet tanker promptly, the flying-boom air-to-air refueling system was also a Boeing product from the KC-97: developing the KC-135 had been a safe bet. ...Consultations with the airlines resulted in a number of changes: the fuselage was widened by 15 inches (38 cm) to allow six-abreast seating. This led to larger wings and tail surfaces and a longer fuselage. The DC-8 was officially announced in July 1955. Four versions were offered to begin with, all based on the same 150-foot-6-inch (45.87 m) long airframe with a 141-foot-1-inch (43.00 m) wingspan, but varying in engines and fuel capacity, and with maximum weights of about 120--130 tons (109--118 tonnes). Douglas steadfastly refused to offer different fuselage sizes. The maiden flight was planned for December 1957, with entry into revenue service in 1959. Well aware that they were lagging behind Boeing, Douglas began a major push to market the product... ...October 1955... Pan American placed simultaneous orders with Boeing for 20 707s and Douglas for 25 DC-8s. To buy one expensive and untried jet-powered aircraft type was brave: to buy both was at the time, unheard of. In the closing months of 1955, other airlines rushed to follow suit: Air France, American, Braniff, Continental and Sabena ordered 707s; United, National, KLM, Eastern, JAL and SAS chose the DC-8. In 1956 Air India, BOAC, Lufthansa, Qantas and TWA added over 50 to the 707 order book, while Douglas sold 22 DC-8s to Delta, Swissair, TAI, Trans-Canada and UAT. By the start of 1958, Douglas had sold 133 DC-8s as against Boeing's 150 707s... The first DC-8 was rolled out of the new factory at Long Beach in April 1958... The DC-8 entered revenue service first with Delta Air Lines on 18 September 1959 with United also entering service later on the same day. By March 1960, Douglas had reached their planned production rate of eight DC-8s a month.... On 21 August 1961 a Douglas DC-8 broke the sound barrier at Mach 1.012 (660 mph/1,062 km/h) while in a controlled dive through 41,000 feet (12,497 m) and maintained that speed, for 16 seconds. The flight was to collect data on a new leading-edge design for the wing, and while doing so, this DC-8 became the first civilian jet to make a supersonic flight. The aircraft was a DC-8-43 later delivered to Canadian Pacific Air Lines as CF-CPG. The aircraft, crewed by Captain William Magruder, First Officer Paul Patten, Flight Engineer Joseph Tomich and Flight Test Engineer Richard Edwards, took off from Edwards Air Force Base in California, and was accompanied to altitude by an F-104 flown by Chuck Yeager...

CARACAS, Venezuela (AP) -- Conservative U.S. politicians banned from traveling to Venezuela by socialist President Nicolas Maduro are taking the restriction as a badge of honor.Maduro laid out a series of measures against U.S. diplomats and tourists Saturday night, including a promise to limit the size of the embassy here and impose a tourist visa requirement.Maduro also gave a list of conservative U.S. officials who would be barred from entering Venezuela. He named former President George W. Bush, former Vice President Dick Cheney and several congressmen."They can't come to Venezuela because they're terrorists," Maduro said before a crowd that had gathered to protest imperialism. "Out of here, terrorists."Florida Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen said on Twitter that she was proud to be listed among such "good company." Another Florida Republican, Rep. Mario Diaz-Balart, responded with faux disappointment."I've always wanted to travel to a corrupt country that is not a free democracy. And now Castro's lapdog won't let me!" he wrote on Twitter. Some high-profile critics of the Maduro administration took the new ban as opportunity to slam the administration. Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., said in a statement that he didn't need to come to Caracas to work against the regime."No matter where I am, I will continue exposing the murders, human rights abuses and economic disaster that Nicolas Maduro and his regime are responsible for in Venezuela," he said.Similarly, Sen. Bob Menendez, a Democrat from New Jersey, vowed that the ban would have no effect on his willingness to speak out against the Maduro government. The U.S. recently imposed a travel ban on a list of top Venezuelan officials accused of human rights violations.Foreign Relations Minister Delcy Rodriguez said Sunday she would work to put the new regulations in place quickly, and added that the new visa restriction was a question of fairness."It's nothing unusual. Venezuelans have to pay in dollars just to apply for a visa to go to the U.S., even if they're not granted one," she said.Maduro suggested Saturday that he could squeeze the number of U.S. functionaries permitted in Venezuela from a hundred people down to just a handful, a move which could complicate the processing of tourist visas for Venezuelans. The U.S. embassy in Caracas temporarily suspended new tourist visas for Venezuelans last year, citing staffing issues.Tensions have been running high in Venezuela after a policeman killed a 14 year-old during an anti-government protest, and officials arrested the opposition mayor of Caracas. The bolivar has fallen to a record low on the widely used black currency market and Maduro's approval ratings are languishing in the low 20 percent range.Government critics rallied outside the Vatican's diplomatic mission in Caracas last week to ask Pope Francis to intervene. On Sunday, Francis, the first Latin American pope, said in a public address that he hoped for an end to political violence in Venezuela and the start of constructive talks between the government and opposition. He added that he was praying for the 14-year-old.Follow us on Twitter @Local12 and LIKE us on Facebook for updates!

Like a flying ghost of the Twilight Zone, a contracted DC-4 air ship with 57 travelers on load up arrived in Caracas, Venezuela, in 1992 ... 37 years after his vanishing in 1955 amid a flight from New York to Miami! Be that as it may, in under a couple of minutes, the plane took off again a phantom, and vanished into the mists! Declarations and taped radio correspondence between the pilot and control tower are unquestionable evidence that this nightmarish landing still was in all actuality. - Indications of laborers control administration of the air terminal, who saw the occurrence, the same generally, - said Deputy Minister of Civil Aviation Ramon Estovar. In any case, the clincher, agreeing Estovara is a little schedule 1955, which gave the pilot the runway a few moments before take-off and the vanishing of DC-4. - I saw the plane ... I heard the voice of the pilot. I even conveyed a schedule, yet at the same time can not trust it, - said Juan de la Corte, who unmistakably observed everything that happened from his post on the tower control flight. - These individuals on board still believe that now in 1955 and that they had arrived in Florida. In any case, it is definitely not. God knows where they have been every one of these years. As indicated by de la Corte and different supervisors, they understood that there is something extraordinary, when the air terminal was abruptly moved toward propeller plane that has not showed up on the radar screens. - We saw the plane with his own particular eyes, yet on the radar were no indications of it, - said de la Corte. - We have requested that the pilot call himself, and he radioed us, "Where are we?" His voice was panicked and befuddled, yet at last he said that contract flight 914 from New York to Miami, with a team of 4 individuals and 57 travelers. Director said that after these expressions of the pilot in the control room was peaceful. Everybody was dazed. Goal Flight 914 ... Miami ... 1800 km from Caracas ... - I told the pilot: "It Caracas, Venezuela, South America ...". At that point I asked, "Are you enduring a debacle?" There was no reply, and I cleared the hallway for landing. Planting was great. Exactly when I began to surmise that everything went well, I heard the pilot told his copilot: "Jesus Christ, Jimmy! What the heck would you say you are? "They took a gander at the fly and carried on as though it was a spaceship. As indicated by de la Corte, the pilot expressed that he was planned to sit at Miami International Airport at 9.55 am July 2, 1955. - Then I heard him say, "Something isn't right here." I radioed the plane: "Skipper, this is a worldwide airplane terminal in Caracas. Today, May 21, 1992. "He just said," Oh, my God! "I could hear him breathing intensely. I attempted to quiet him down, saying that it had sent to the ground group. As indicated by de la Corte, when the ground team and moved toward the tanker flying machine, the pilot yelled over the radio: "No! Try not to go close! We're leaving here! "Later, ground benefit specialists reported seeing travelers confront squeezed against the window. A pilot opened the window of his taxi and waved them to clear out. - He waved to some envelope - said de la Corte. - Probably, as a result of it and fell logbooks, which we later discovered. The pilot began the motors, and the plane took off. Pioneers of common aeronautics confined all records of arrangements with the board, furthermore found a logbook and keep on investigating the occurrence.
